The atmospheric colours of genuine clay paints and clay plasters conjure up the flair of entire landscapes in your rooms. Conluto clay surface finishes are authentic and high-quality. The natural colours consist of sands and clays that occur naturally in the earth.

Genuine clay paint with a high clay content for the surface finish of a clay wall. Can also be used on all other substrates.

Features:

• Depending on the substrate, consumption is approx. 75–130 g/m² (for highly absorbent substrates, the highest consumption specified here should be expected).

Maintain open porosity

The open porosity of a natural clay plaster wall is altered by any paint coating. Casein primer and clay paint in combination are still highly diffusion-open and only minimally alter the properties of the clay.

Conluto casein primer

Casein primer is a colourless, transparent primer for subsequent coats of conluto clay paints, clay paints and clay plasters. Casein primer can also be used as a plaster fixative for visible clay plaster surfaces and clay plasters. Highly diffusible, easy to apply and free from preservatives.

Conluto Casein Primer reduces the absorbency of highly absorbent substrates and evens out differences in absorbency. Slightly sandy substrates are consolidated thanks to the primer's good penetration properties. It can also be used to transparently consolidate sandy clay plaster indoors, as well as other untreated plasters and drywall panels.

Yields 8 litres of ready-to-use primer for 40–60 m², depending on the absorbency of the substrate.

Processing of casein primer

Casein primer is mixed with 2 litres of water and diluted with a further 6 litres after half an hour. Apply a very thin coat using a ceiling brush. It can also be sprayed on using a pump sprayer, but care must be taken not to apply too thick a coat.

Casein primer is free from additives. Once mixed, it should therefore be used immediately. If you need to leave any leftovers overnight, they should be stored in a cool place in a clean bucket.
