Conluto earth wrap

Handmade clay wraps made from straw and clay. These clay wraps, or wrapping rods, or oak corrugated wood are installed in false ceilings or half-timbered walls.

Clay wraps are one of the oldest clay building techniques. The old principle still works perfectly today and is installed in old or new buildings. The wrap has a high mass, the clay built into the house is a storage for heat and cold. The wrap absorbs sound and has a very positive effect on the room climate.

The clay wraps are handmade according to traditional models in different lengths. After wrapping, the stakes are pre-dried using only the wind. Special dimensions are of course possible.

The diameter varies between 12 and 14 cm.

Clay rods are the best plaster supports and are as much a part of the half-timbered house as the half-timbered beam itself.
